About AC Benahavis
Walking football for everyone. No running, no limits, all heart.
What is Walking Football?
Walking football is a slower-paced version of the beautiful game, specifically designed to allow older adults and those with physical limitations to enjoy football safely. The rules are simple: no running. Players must walk at all times, keeping the game accessible, sociable, and surprisingly competitive.
Introduced in the UK in 2011, the sport has spread worldwide and is now played across Spain's Costa del Sol by thousands of enthusiasts. It keeps you active, sharpens your mind, and gives you a brilliant social outlet.
No Running
Players must walk at all times. Jogging or running results in a free kick to the opposition.
7-a-side
Teams of seven players including the goalkeeper on a reduced-size pitch.
No Slide Tackles
Slide tackling is prohibited. Shoulder-to-shoulder contact is permitted within reason.
Ball Height
The ball must not be played above head height. Deliberate aerial balls are a foul.
Rolling Subs
Unlimited rolling substitutions keep everyone involved throughout the session.
Fair Play
Respect for fellow players is paramount. We take fair play seriously — always.

AC Benahavis is run by a volunteer committee elected annually at the AGM.
